CHARACTERISTICS: A warm season bunchgrass that grows from 5 to 7 feet tall. Blooms from August to October. Yellow seed heads have very leafy foliage that turns to colorful hues of brown in winter. Often stays erect until spring.

HABIT: Serpentine barrens, dry, calcerous clearings, dry prairies, sand hills and other dry, rocky or sandy soils. pH 5.5 to 7.8. Full sun. Drought tolerant.

CHARACTERISTICS: A hardy, rapidly emerging warm season bunchgrass that spreads by short rhizomes, reproduces only by seed and growns to 2 feet tall. Blooms from July to September. Narrow leaves form a curly mass of bunch sod.

CHARACTERISTICS: A warm season bunchgrass with a dense root system (reaching as deep as 8 feet) that grows from 2 to 3 feet tall. Blooms from July to October. Yellow seed heads have gray green foliage. Produces long lived stands.

SEEDING RATE: 8 lbs PLS per acre alone; 10% to 30% in a mix

HABIT: Alluvial thickets and open fields. Establishes best in well-drained soil. pH 5.0 to 7.9. Partial shade tolerant.

CHARACTERISTICS: A cool season bunchgrass that grows from 3 to 6 feet tall. Blooms from June to August. Seed heads are 6 to 8 in. long with 2 spikelets at each node that produce small grain seeds, year-around foliage.

SEEDING RATE: 15 lbs PLS per acre alone; 10% to 25% in a mix
